CONFERENCE EVENT MANAGER

Fulltime Position
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Concourse Group is looking for a skilled Conference event planner with the ability to work in a small team environment to solve problems on behalf of the client. This position is primarily remote but may require infrequent visits to client locations in the San Antonio area. This position requires strong planning skills, and a commitment to developing strong customer relationships through communication and quality results. Organization, attention to detail, and strong written communication skills, are vital to success in this position. 

  • Plan conferences with seating for approximately 500-1500 people

  • Costing and presenting of cost related quotes for venues, including an itemized list of all associated costs and fees

  • Arranging of hotel accommodations with proximity to airports and eating establishments and with handicap access and proper parking/valet options

  • Ensure that any necessary audio-visual support is available and prepared for the event 

  • Prepare initial work breakdown plans and ensure that proper project management tools are in use 

  • Prepare agendas, name tags, participation certificates, comment reception vehicle and any other printed material associated with the event

  • Develop risk management plans for the event

  • Execute pre-event communications such as informational e-mails for registered participants

  • Analyze feedback from event participants and organize into a summary

  • Synthesize and evaluate information from a variety of sources, to prepare documents or provide insight with which officials can make timely and accurate decisions

  • Develop and maintain meeting minutes, action items, planning and milestone calendars

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for maintaining client and consultant relationships

  • Ability to solve problems using a detailed and well-ordered approach

  • Can work without direct supervision and independently with broad guidelines

  • Must be attentive to detail, maintain standards, and actively check for data accuracy before conveying the final work product 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in project management and/or government event planning

  • Fully qualified with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word software

  • Experience in collecting, compiling, editing, analyzing, and presenting data

  • Experience in composing correspondence from draft to final version, both electronic and hard copy. Communicates clearly, both orally and in writing in English. Provides appropriate telephone etiquette and customer service

  • Ability to efficiently multitask and deliver on client requests in a timely fashion

  • Location: Remote but must be accessible to San Antonio Metro Area

  • Must be willing to travel to the San Antonio Metro Area as needed for meetings and events. Hours will be 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and may be required to work additional hours immediately before, during or after an event.

SENIOR ANALYST

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field 

  • MBA in Real Estate, Finance, Planning, or associated field a plus 

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in Real Estate Development, mixed use, residential, commercial of all types

  • Preferably, 8 - 10 years of Financial Analysis experience with significant exposure to commercial real estate investment, acquisition, and restructure

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products 

  • Expert proficiency in Excel highly preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conducts financial analysis for client's national portfolio, including the creation of detailed pro-forma and financial models. Must be able to understand debt, valuation methodologies, and other real estate finance tools and metrics, including waterfalls for different deal structures.

  • Develop and lead real estate solution activities encompassing acquisition, restructure, ground leasing, and portfolio and asset problem solving  

  • Conducts ongoing analysis of operations and performance of the existing real estate portfolio, including performance vs. pro-forma

  • Construct, manipulate, and modify Excel-based models to calculate returns including IRR, NPV, and cash returns

  • Manages the transaction process, including due diligence, site selection, environmental process, scheduling, deal points, negotiations, and status reports for targeted transactions from acquisition to disposition for a variety of public- private (P3) real estate transactions 

  • Prepares source selection documents, analyses responses, and reports findings 

  • Prepares and reviews a variety of analysis regarding existing real estate portfolio, including but not limited to operating and capital budgets, operating statements, appraisals, market surveys 

  • Creates public-private venture and finance strategies 

  • Conducts analyses to address complex financial issues and determine financial deal viability 

  • Assists with investigating, interpreting, and resolving policy issues 

  • Provides support consistent with all aspects of determining project feasibility

  • Assists with the design, implementation, expansion, and continuous improvement of portfolio management  

  • Prepares reports, briefings and papers, participate in meetings and provides technology support for databases, and benchmarking future decision making  

 

RENEWABLE ENERGY AND CLIMATE ANALYST

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, environmental or climate sciences, engineering, planning, public policy, economics, or business, or related area

  • Master’s degree a plus but not required

  • Expert proficiency in Excel required

  • 3+ years of relevant energy sector experience. Experience working for or with utilities, independent power producers, power generation project developers, energy consultancies, U.S. government entities preferred.

  • CEM, PMP and/ or LEED certification desired but not required

  • Experience working with the U.S. Department of Navy, Department of Defense, or other Federal entities a plus

  • Experience working with public sector climate, resilience, or renewable energy project development and execution desired

  • Conducts business case and financial analysis for client's renewable/resilient energy related portfolio, including the creation of detailed pro-forma and financial models

  • Lead qualitative and/or quantitative analysis including policy cost analysis, feasibility assessments, surveys, and interviews, focused on technical, policy, and/or financial implications of renewable energy and climate policies and technologies

  • Construct, manipulate, and continuously modify Excel-based models to calculate returns including IRR, NPV, and cash returns. 

  • Must have knowledge of third-party finance and assist with client advisory on energy project execution strategies 

  • Assist client with planning and policy issues

  • Willingness to learn, demonstrate, and apply better methods of supporting the clients in reaching their renewable energy/ climate goals

  • Provides support consistent with all aspects of determining project feasibility. 

  • Provide project and program communications support. Assist in preparing briefings, participate in meetings and providing support for databases; establish, synthesize, and maintain accurate project record keeping for project continuity

  • Manage and deliver projects that support government energy policies and renewable/resilient energy development. Involves ensuring high quality client deliverables in all activities, managing the work of project teams as assigned, monitoring project schedules, budgets, and scopes against plan.

FINANCIAL ANALYST

  • 1-2 years of in Financial Analysis experience preferred

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH ANALYST / PROGRAM ANALYST

SUMMARY:

The Concourse Group is looking for a skilled analyst with the ability to work in a small team environment to solve problems with various client data sets. This position is primarily remote but may require infrequent visits to client locations throughout the National Capital Region. This position requires strong skills in designing, developing, and maintaining very large data models. Candidate will join our highly skilled team to assist with R-coding-based data management and analysis. Attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and Power BI expertise are vital to success in this position. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to assemble, communicate and present information clearly 

  • Proficiency in manipulating data sets using R coding and drawing insights from large data to validate and explain trends and influence decisions

  • Requires the ability to understand customer problems, quickly learn new tools and technologies, and work both independently and as part of a team of developers and functional experts to rapidly deliver customer solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to use advanced formulas in excel to build extensive multi-sheet data models to solve complex questions for the client

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT RESEARCH ANALYST

OVERVIEW
Our Homeland Security Sector seeks candidates for a Research Analyst position to support projects within the Systems Resilience (SR) and Emergency Management (EM) practice areas. Spanning multi-disciplinary and cross-functional practices, our HS sector develops and applies innovative approaches to analyze emerging threats (including all-hazards preparedness and emerging climate risks), identify needs, drive organizational change, and implement resilience across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, academic, private sector, and non-governmental organizations. 
Research Analysts have varied analytical, program support, and administrative responsibilities—such as research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, stakeholder engagement support, preparing reports and briefings for senior government officials and the public, and performing administrative duties. Successful candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and be comfortable in fast-faced environments. This is an entry-level position – both recent graduates and those with relevant experience are invited to apply.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct policy analysis and research on emergency management, homeland security, all-hazards preparedness, climate adaptation, and resilience topics under the direction of a project manager and working in collaboration with other team members.

  • Support research and analysis for a wide range of potential activities and reports, including tabletop exercises, field assessments, technology demonstrations, functional and full-scale exercises, risk assessments, climate resilience, training events, and other high-visibility, complex, and time-sensitive tasks.

  • Support stakeholder outreach, coordination, and communication activities for a variety of homeland security, preparedness, and resilience activities, events, and projects.

  • Support the production of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation (HSEEP) exercise documentation, memoranda, briefings, and presentations.

  • Support research, administration, logistics, conduct, and notetaking for meetings and events

  • Collect data and information to prepare reports, assessments, and analytical materials; use qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to draw conclusions from data.

  • Develop high-quality written communications products in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.

  • Provide a strong attention to detail and adherence to a formal writing style guide to create consistent and professional reports, assessments, and other written deliverables.

  • Write, edit, and proofread data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, special reports, and other deliverables.

  • Develop deep knowledge of preparedness assessments, tools, and systems.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to collect homeland security and preparedness-related data.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in a national or homeland security, public policy, emergency management, social science, or climate adaptation.

  • Excellent analytical, communication (oral and written), organizational, research, and presentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-edit and quality-check all work; ability to review, quality-check, and edit the work of supporting team members.

  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines across multiple simultaneous projects.
